Navigation

Quick post... you know what'd make navigation a LOT easier... a global co-ordinate system... from -200 to 200 or however it'd work out. Personally I don't find it too much of an issue, but I know some people are finding it difficult to get their head around every map being on a different system. Not sure how feasible the idea is.

  1. Not very feasible. Chaos has some sort of master plan that requires each map section to be 40 x 40 x 5. When I first made Avalon, I made it on I think 50 x 80 x 5, and was not happy to find that I had to shrink my beautiful map down to meet the standards. I think these measures have something to do with the cosmology of the realms. Besides, I just don't see how it would be an issue. The Northlands were on their own coordinates, and people adapted to that just fine. Then when Avalon came along, more adjusting, and the more adjusting for Gardagh. This is just a bigger dosage of adjustment time.

Plus, it's bad enough that incarnoi have a built in magnetic compass, now you want them to have a built in GPS?

  2. I asked if we were going to have this as well before the deployment. The change to determine location strikes me as a better IC change so that people will actually become more familiar with the regions as opposed to flying madly about a map until their internal GPS syncs up.
