Update

Well in the four or five months since I played regularly there's been quite a few changes. Too many to go into detail over though most of them are 'small' they do add up. The change to Vanishing Tower so far was the only one that gave me pause, and I still haven't decided whether it's a good thing or a bad thing in the current enviroment to cut back on 'farming'. I don't farm, heck I rarely even do 'The Run', when I'm an active player I tend to work on my own goals that aren't exactly xp-friendly. The War Band being an example of that.

Speaking of which during my absence and with hasty logins and bad logouts the War Band is down again to just Ruby. Keeping those little buggers alive would require LOTs of those gems I like so much and I might go on a drive to gather more than I should, say... 10? That'd give me 5 permanent followers and 5 permanent mounts and it would stop the xp that gets invested in them being wasted.

Might be nice if there was a way for higher level knights to recruit higher level yeomen/followers though.

My absence has been and will continue to be because of work, out at 7am usually back at 9.30pm and sometimes I have to fit a girlfriend around my free time though she's pretty busy too so I should be able to with a little effort make some time for my favorite MUD. We'll see.

BTW: Changing race names: Very cool but I wish we had some artwork on the wiki or main site.

  1. Glad to see a post Gav, I've not been logging in much myself, but I tend to check the blogs. Vanishing Tower always was a quick death for my characters, so not much of an impact for me. I was sad to see the Hotel California go, I understand "cleaning" the mud stylistically, but at least renaming keeps content. Every little bit helps. Those glowing bracelet the eagle dropped eliminated the need to worry about the annoying mechanic of night blindness for poor human Wilson.

I'm thinking of pumping Charisma and having Wilson get out of the Rangers and into ELF...the higher level stuff seems to laugh at big physical hits alone. I would be tempted to keep brute and leave the Rangers if Iggy did not have to die, but then again I suppose that would defeat the charisma synergy anyway.

I'll try to get a Quell backstory going at some point for your amusement... Why does that Fomor rejoice at a bluebird on his shoulder?
